Canto Mediterraneo [“Mediterranean chants”] is an intercultural project realized by four persons from Italy, Brazil and Germany who are sailing from Venice to Turkey in the summer of 2009 with the aim to research contemporary music of the countries that will be visited. Local musicians that make a mix of traditional and modern music have been involved and one song of their choice plus an interview has been published on the project blog.
This project inserts itself in a more far reaching ambition of executing sustainable tourism journeys. This is to say, doing journeys respecting the nature and culture of the places and with the intention of achieving the most authentic knowledge possible of the countries that are receiving the crew members.
